i saw some flowers and thought of the creator

I was on my way to class today and my eyes were immediately caught by the flowers blooming on campus... so, rightfully so me being me, I had to stop and take a picture. In my head I thought about "the price of pollen" for this beauty is worth it.

I don't know about you but allergy season is not my friend.

Even though spring is one of my most favorite seasons because track is in full swing and I start to get that itch for summer... pollen, allergies, and lots of rainy days don't make my eyes and nose too happy...

Jesus to His disciples at the Sermon on the Mount:

Matthew 6:28-33

“And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

Something about Jesus telling us to turn our attention to nature to learn more of God’s character and the ways He works is so simplistic, yet powerful to me.

Jesus pointed to the lilies and the birds to press into our hearts, or press in and learn that He is the Creator and Sustainer of all life, from the smallest of creatures to the greatest.

Where Jesus emphasizes "But SEEK FIRST the Kingdom of God and all the things will be added to you" ...

He acknowledges the hard seasons we walk through. He knows there's some pollen that makes those growing seasons harder... but it always yields in bloom. And just as all these things are provided for the birds and the flowers, they are added to you and more.

If you find yourself here in a long season of waiting for His provision to rescue you, or be revealed to you in what feels lost or hopeless, hold tight...He will always show up in the end.

God provides for us who put Him and His kingdom first. Sometimes that provision comes in a variety of ways, not always in the exact way we want to see it, or dream it or imagine it. But He is always faithful to His children.

If He dresses the lilies with beauty, how much more will he clothe you?

God sees the smallest creation of a blooming flower and He most certainly sees you and me.

Worry for our basic needs will not add a thing to our lives, if anything it robs the peace out of life.

Admits our worries, struggles, hard seasons..etc, JESUS SEES YOU.

He is watching over you. He never leaves you alone. He brings beauty out of brokenness, and if you trust and look hard enough, he will reveal to you flowers growing within you, you may of never thought you had.

Funny how this word was placed on my heart, simply from admiration of seeing some flowers today.

...next time your attention is captured by a flower, remember Jesus telling you to trust Him with your concerns and that He has it under control. He knew this world needed one of you - so let Him carry you, work through you and PROVIDE for you.

LOVE,

AW
